Nick Ervinck explores the art historical motif of the veil to create an illusion. Veils are capable of creating and enhancing abmivalence. Besides the mysterious part, veils also accentuate things that don't need to be hidden. For his contribution to 'De Alibi', Ervinck uses the floorcloth as a nobel, sculptural element, accentuating the mysteriousness of the veiled form.
