AMLUNIAR, 2017
polyurethane and polyester
250 x 170 x 155 cm
98.4 x 66.9 x 61 inches
This large sculpture, commissioned by a private collector, is the result of a digital designing process, but nevertheless realized by hand, using polyester. The digital design language is clear in the fluid, vivid lines of the sculpture, creating a unique dynamic and movement. With these ‘blob’ sculptures, Nick Ervinck questions how the computer can be used in the realization of organic and experimental (negative) spaces and sculptures within sculptures. For sculptures like AMLUNIAR, Nick Ervinck derives inspiration from the work of artists like Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth.
